Pastor stole SUV from car dealer, arrested in lagos


A pastor by name Jeremiah Ehindero stole a vehicle from a car dealer in Lagos, he allegedly drove the vehicle straight to Ore where he sold it after removing the number plate shortly after leaving the car dealer.


The pastor stole and sold the vehicle for N600,000 in ore, ondo state before going into hiding.

Report from the police stated that, the acclaimed pastor approached the car sales outlet belonging to man named Jamiu located in Sango Ota, Ogun State, requesting for a Toyota Highlander to purchase for the purpose of evangelism.

Pastor Ehindero was said to have sped off with the vehicle while he waals test driving it after both parties had agreed on a price of the vehicle.

The pastor drove the vehicle to Ore where he sold it, after removing the number plate shortly after leaving the car dealer.

The car dealer Mr Jamiu reported the issue to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of FSARS, Lagos, Kola Kamalden, who directed his team led by SP Olaniyi Festus to go after the pastor and arrest him and recover the vehicle.

After apprehending the pastor, he Confessed to the crime, Ehindero said, “I decided to steal the SUV and use the money to settle the N650,000 I borrowed from a mirco-finance bank in Lagos.

He said he borrowed the money to renovate his church and  recover the investment from tithes and offerings of his members.

He said When the pressure from the micro finance bank became unbearable for him, the devil told him to steal a vehicle from a car dealer to sell and use the money to repay the loan. He went further ahead to say that he regrets his action and was a for allowing himself fall for temptation “

I regret my action,” he said.

According to the police, everyone involved in the act will be charged to court soon.
